There is no better way to say 'thank you' to someone than with a homemade card. You'll get tons of fun putting the project together, your recipient will feel appreciated for receiving the kind acknowledgement and you'll both get those warm fuzzies that only come from being lovely.
While cardmaking is a totally subjective thing, we thought we'd put together a list of our favourite ideas to help you get started. Whether you want to give someone a card for Thanksgiving, to show someone how much you appreciate them or as a fun way to say thanks for a gift, take a look through this post and see if you can get inspired!
1. Gemini Mini Word Die card
Along with the launch of our Gemini Mini, we also brought out a selection of tiny sentiment dies that fit perfectly inside! While there are a ton of sentiments to choose from, the Thank You So Much Die is absolutely ideal for showing a bit of gratitude!
We love that this card above features on the sentiment against striking pink with minimal butterfly embellishments. It means that all eyes are on the central phrase. This is a super easy card to recreate and would be brilliant for beginners.
2. Innerpage card
Our Innerpage Dies are certainly the way to go if you want to create a bit of a statement. Opposite to the stacking effect of decoupage, innerpage is the illusion of elements sinking into the page, like you can see in the image above.
This orange colour scheme that has been used with the Thanks Innerpage Die is so fun and eye-catching, but of course, you can switch up the colours in any way that you see fit. For Thanksgiving, just imagine how cute it would be to have some earthy browns and greens thrown into the orange mix for a more autumnal feel.
3. Pop Out Word card
Our Pop Out Dies are so much fun and are ideal for creating a bit of excitement on the interiors of your cards. They work by cutting a pop out sentiment against the fold of your card, so when the card is opened, the sentiment practically leaps off the page!
Of course, the Thank You Pop Out Die is ideal for thank you cards, but how sweet is this colourway? The white text is set so beautifully against the royal blue background and the mint green wall texture. It's such a funky look and we just know that any recipient would love it!
4. Nesting Die shaker card
You all know how much we love Nesting Dies here at Crafter's Companion, but they're just so versatile, so how could we not? They're great for matting and layering, creating frames and making shaker cards, just like the one in the image above.
This card features the Scalloped Edge Square 2 Nesting Dies, combined with acetate, foam pads and pastel sequins to create a gorgeous shaker effect. Topped off with a thank you sentiment, this is a super fun card to show a bit of a gratitude.
5. Perfect peony card
If you want a classic touch in your thank you cards, you will love the Nature's Garden Peony Collection! This range features a whole load of peony prettiness, which will give your cards a vintage and nostalgic look, just like the card above.
This card features several elements from the Peony Collection, but the most notable are the 12" x 12" Paper Pad and the Trellis Frame Dies. These two items work together to bring you that beautiful central image that holds the sentiment and that stunning bouquet foreground.
6. Radiating thank you card
Sometimes, sleek and simple is all you need. Our upcoming Radiating Foil Stamp 'n' Cut Dies feature a sentiment surrounded by radiating lines that draw attention to the central shape. They're absolutely perfect for using on the front of cards, so keep your eyes peeled on November 19th for the launch!
The Thank You Foil Stamp 'n' Cut Die is ideal for showing a special someone how much they mean to you. Try using various colours and finishes of foils - the holographic foil would be amazing for this project!
7. Pastel rainbow card
There's nothing more punchy than a rainbow, so jazz up your thank you cards with a splash of rainbow magic. This particular card features a pastel rainbow, so it isn't as bright as your typical spectrum, but it still looks absolutely beautiful - especially paired up with the flowers.
This card features the Thank You Sentiment Die, which has been designed with swirling details to grab even more attention. All you'd need to do is cut the sentiment and background in white, then buff your inkpad colours on to the background with a Blending Tool.
8. Circle sentiment card
The easiest way to say thank you is with a sentiment stamp or die, but have you seen a sentiment in a circle? That was exactly the inspiration for this card! Featuring a circle of thank yous around a stamped rose image, the Thank You Circle Stamp and Die is ideal for adding an interesting focal point to your project.
Pair up this set with muted, natural-toned papers and a gorgeous bow to finish it off! It's the perfect look for a more pared back, soft card!
9. Thanks edge card
Edge'ables are the perfect way to add an exciting edge element to your card projects, whether you create a central window with an edge or use the edges of your cards. It's an easy but effective way to help your cards stand out from the crowd.
We love that this card features the Thanks Stamp and Die set, with striking black contrasted against a pale blue background. It really brings the sentiment to life and demands the limelight. Make sure you pair up this set with the Circle Frames Die to create that perfect window.
10. Cupcake shaker card
Last, but not least, we've got another shaker card with a sweet feature! Our Shaker Card Stamp and Die sets are ideal for a whole host of occasions, but how cute is the Sweet Birthday set when paired up with a thank you sentiment instead?
With the cupcake, you can create two individual shakers - one in the icing and one in the case - so this is a slightly more advanced project, but it's definitely worth the extra effort. Your recipients will have so much fun shaking the sequins of confetti about!
We hope that this post has given you a little bit of inspiration for your next thank you cardmaking project or even put you in the mood for some Thanksgiving celebrations.
