Whether you’re an avid reader yourself or know someone who is, World Book Day is like Christmas! And what better way to celebrate than letting your love of books inspire your creativity with some handmade crafts and projects.
If you’re in need of some inspiration, check out three of our favourite homemade crafts that are sure to delight crafters with a love for reading that we’ve made using our Bookworm Mini Collection.
Book-lovers bookmark
Every reader needs a good bookmark to not lose their place (and fight the battle against dog-eared pages). This is such an easy craft to make yourself, as it can be as simple as cutting a square from white card and stamping your chosen designs on it. While we used our Stack of Books and Bookish Era stamps for the one you see here, the best bit about making your own bookmarks is that they’re completely customisable. So, you can make them as extravagant or as simple as you please!
‘New Chapter’ Homemade Birthday Card
Let’s be honest, there’s no better way to celebrate a birthday than with a considerate, handmade birthday card. Having the chance to make your own means you can really gear it to their interests, making it the chance to give the bookworms in your life the perfect card. We created this gorgeous card with our Book Collection stamp and die set and finished off with a sentiment stamp from our Bookish Era stamp set.
Personalised papercraft book tracker
Look, we love reading too, but we can all admit our reading lists get out of hand sometimes. Not just the books we want to read, but the ones we swore we’d finish months ago! That’s why a handy little craft that’s not just perfect for getting your creative juices flowing, but making your own papercraft book tracker to keep a journal of what you’re currently reading. We used our Reading List metal die set that you can write your current reads on the spine, and stamps to remind ourselves to read more and scroll less.
