Make a Modern Man sweater card for Father's Day -Crafters Companion UK

Here's a fun twist on our Modern Man Suit and Tie Die set, perfect for giving your Father's Day or a birthday card a personalised touch.

Here's what you'll need:

Modern Man Twisted Knot embossing folder
Modern Man Sentiment Card
White Card
Red Linen Card
Gold Card
Guillotine
Scoreboard
Scissors
Sanding Block
Inkpad for sentiment
Stamping platform
Tape Pen
All-purpose glue
Foam Pads

Step-by-step instructions

Take a piece of A4 card.
Cut it down to 8” x 5 1/4".
Score down the short edge at 2”. Turn it around and score the other short edge at 2”. This gives you your base gatefold card.
Take some red card stock (linen card will work best for this project) and cut out one side of the sweater with the die from the Modern Man Suit and Tie set.
Repeat this process leaving you with both sides of the sweater.
Take the Cable Knit embossing folder, line it up with the pattern, and then run it through your Gemini.
Repeat this process with the other side, making sure to the emboss the correct side. Try to align the pattern so both sides of the sweater match when they're placed next to each other.
Take a sanding block and gently rub it over the embossed parts to highlight the linen card's white core. It creates a lovely contrast that has the look of knitted wool.
Attach both sides of the coloured card to the card base.
Cut away the excess from the top and bottom corner of the card.
Take another piece of coloured card and cut it to 5” x 3 ¾”. Then take a white piece of card and cut to 4 ¾” 3 ½”.
Mat and layer them, then insert them into the middle of the card.
Take some scraps of card in red, gold and white, and using the dies in the Modern Man Tie and Suit set, cut out 1 x pocket (red), 2 x buttons (gold), and 2 x collars (white).
Stamp a sentiment, then mat and layer it onto gold card.
It's time to layer up all the elements! For the white shirt, the collars go on the inside of the card. Then draw a line down the centre and add some dots or gems for buttons. For the jumper, the pocket goes across the right side of the card, with the two buttons overlapping the edge. The sentiment goes at the bottom.
