There’s not much better than a really good book, and while you may never want to put that one read that grabs you down, you’ll need a bookmark to make sure you don’t lose your place.
Instead of using the thing nearest to you or dog-earing the pages, follow along to these simple steps and create your own hand-stitched corner bookmark.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Step-by-step instructions
1. Cut your felt into a 4 by 4 (10.2cm x 10.2cm) square, then cut the square diagonally down the centre to create two triangles.
2. With an embroidery transfer of your choice (we used this floral stamp), stick the design onto one side of the felt triangle.
3. Using the design as a guide, stitch the embroidery thread into the felt to create a colourful floral image on the front of your bookmark.
4. Using a blanket stitch, combine the two felt triangles together across the two shortest sides with the design facing out to create a pocket. This sits on the corner of your page as a cute bookmark.
